My client who is a residential property managing agent is looking to employ a handyman, below is the general job description of that role.

  • Based in Stratford
  • £30k per year
  • 23 days holiday
  • Monday to Friday
  • 8am to 4:30pm

Duties:

  1. Basic plumbing repairs (e.g., fixing communal leaks so they don’t get worse, unclogging drains outside).
  2. Minor Electrical repairs (e.g., replacing bulbs, resetting magnetic door access).
  3. Painting and touch-ups for common areas.
  4. Basic carpentry tasks (e.g., repairing doors, adjusting closers).
  5. Resetting hardware (e.g, CCTV, broadband).
  6. Routine maintenance tasks such as assisting in the day to day running of building – including taking bins out once a week

Work Schedule:

The handy person would work regular hours on weekdays and could have availability for emergencies during evenings and weekends. – Scheduled maintenance tasks to be planned on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, with the involvement of the concierge team, ensuring that common areas are consistently well-maintained.

Responsibilities:

Promptly responding to maintenance requests from on site management. – Keeping inventory of necessary supplies and equipment. – Regular inspections to identify and address potential issues before they escalate. – Communicating with management and residents regarding maintenance schedules and updates.
