Salary: Up to £50,000
Hours: Thursday – Sunday, 8am – 5pm
Location: Chelsea Bridge Wharf

Role Overview

The Multi-Trade Maintenance Operative plays a vital role in maintaining the high standards, safety, and overall presentation of a large residential site in Battersea. This position is responsible for delivering a wide range of planned and reactive maintenance tasks, including carpentry, basic locksmith work, roofing and guttering repairs, minor decoration, and general building upkeep.

Working closely with the Estate Management team, you will use the company’s reporting systems to record completed tasks, identify follow-on works, and support the smooth running of the development. A strong focus on health and safety, customer service, and effective teamwork is essential. The role also contributes to the cleanliness and security of the estate, with responsibilities such as signage installation, bin area upkeep, and regular inspections.


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, including carpentry, basic locksmith repairs, roofing, guttering, drainage, and small decoration works (including flooring installation).

  • Provide quotes, highlight further maintenance requirements, and report any issues that require escalation.

  • Produce accurate reports on completed jobs using the company’s mobile app system.

  • Conduct security inspections, identify defects, and support general site safety operations.

  • Install signage and carry out minor building fabric works as required.

  • Undertake Health & Safety inspections and contribute to maintaining a safe environment for all site users.

  • Assist with bin collection on designated days, ensuring all bins and bin areas are cleaned, sanitised, and well-maintained.

  • Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained, reporting any faults or replacement needs.

  • Complete all required documentation, logs, and records accurately and on time.

  • Work collaboratively with Estate Managers, other maintenance staff, and contractors.

  • Undertake any other reasonable tasks in line with the needs of the development.


Skills & Experience Required

  • Full UK Clean Driving Licence (essential).

  • CSCS card (desirable – training can be provided).

  • Previous experience in maintenance, building services, or a similar multi-trade role.

  • Strong understanding of materials, methods, and tools used in property maintenance and repair.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Ability to work to deadlines, manage workload, and remain calm under pressure.

  • Strong team player with the ability to build positive working relationships.

  • Knowledge of building maintenance systems and safe working practices.

  • Ability to safely use all equipment provided, including bin tugs and pressure washers.

  • IOSH qualification (ideal).

  • Practical understanding of Health & Safety legislation and risk management.
