Management Accountant – City of London

Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 | Contract: Permanent / Full Time

This Management Accountant role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse and high-profile mixed-use property portfolio, including residential, commercial, and ground rent assets.

You will be at the heart of the financial operations, responsible for management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and accounting oversight, while liaising with internal teams and clients to ensure timely and accurate financial information. This role offers exposure to a wide range of property finance activities and the chance to make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports for internal and client use, aligned with KPIs.

  • Manage tax reporting and submissions, including CIS, VAT, and NRL.

  • Attend client meetings to present financial performance and insights.

  • Conduct variance analysis with clear commentary and actionable insight.

  • Update financial forecasts on a quarterly basis.

  • Maintain audit-ready accounting records and act as the lead for client audits.

  • Work closely with treasury and credit control teams on cash posting and debt recovery.

  • Review and post prepayments, accruals, and other key adjustments.

  • Support budgeting processes, service charge reconciliations, and cash reconciliations.

  • Lead and mentor an Accounts Assistant, supporting team development and objectives.

  • Assist with annual estate budget preparation and quarterly reconciliations.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented accounting professional with strong commercial awareness and excellent communication skills. A background in property or real estate is highly desirable.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Solid accounting experience in a management or client accountant role.

  • Familiarity with property management, real estate, or consultancy environments preferred.

  • Skilled in preparing management accounts, financial analysis, and budgeting.

  • Proficient with accounting systems (experience with Horizon or Proactis advantageous).

  • Advanced Excel skills and proficient in Microsoft Word.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Confident communicator, able to present financial information clearly.
