  • To conduct regular patrols of the building and communal areas throughout the night, identifying and reporting any issues;
  • To remain alert and attentive throughout the entire awake night shift, ensuring the building remains safe and secure;
  • To respond appropriately to fire alarms, emergencies and other incidents in accordance with site procedures;
  • To contact emergency services where required and immediately notify the appropriate on-call staff member;
  • To report and accurately log maintenance issues, incidents, accidents and other relevant information;
  • To maintain accurate daily records and complete digital logging systems as required;
  • To ensure all relevant incidents, issues and outstanding actions are clearly communicated to the incoming team at the end of each shift;
  • To assist with maintaining a clean, organised and professional reception area;
  • To comply with all site health & safety, security, safeguarding and emergency procedures;
  • To maintain confidentiality and handle student information appropriately;
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the management team.

  • Previous experience within student accommodation or an education environment would be advantageous;
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills;
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills;
  • Comfortable using basic digital systems to record incidents, maintenance issues and daily activities;
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work independently during overnight shifts;
  • Calm and confident when dealing with unexpected situations or emergencies;
  • A proactive and helpful approach to supporting students and maintaining the safety of the building;
