To temp or not to temp? Permanent employment isn’t the be-all-end-all, temp work has it benefits too. While the thought of not having a fixed position might seem daunting at first, you’ll soon see how temping might be the next best step for you to take.

Whether you’re a new mum (or dad), still studying or saving for something special and looking for extra cash; taking on temp work could be the way forward. The beauty of temp work is that it fits around you. By working closely with your temp agency and keeping them in the loop with your availability, you’ll have complete and utter flexibility.
- To build experience
Build experience and boost your confidence. Temping provides a brilliant opportunity for you to broaden your skill set. While a frequent requirement when hiring for permanent positions is that candidates have previous experience, the criteria for temp work tends to be more flexible. Know your rights. As a temp employee you are entitled to regular weekly (that’s right, weekly!) pay and holiday allowance. The European Working Time Directive stipulates that all temporary workers must receive a minimum of 5.6 weeks paid leave per annum. When temping with Abbatt, your holiday pay across all placements.
